Kenya Director of Operations
CPA Nicholas joined HEART in February 2016. He is responsible for financial management and reporting for the HEART Trust and HEART Lodge, to ensure donor and own resources are applied in the most efficient and effective manner, and reported on in accordance with internationally accepted standards. Nicholas has over 15 years’ experience in donor and corporate financial management and reporting, external and internal auditing, risk management and institutional capacity building. He has previously worked with PSI International (Consultant-Global Internal Audit), SolomonGeorge & CO. CPA, ChildFund International –Kenya, SISDO Microfinance and Kigathi & Associates CPA. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Finance), 1st Class Honors; Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and is a member Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Certified Monitoring & Evaluation Expert (KIM), and Certified Public Secretary (CPS) and currently pursuing MBA at Kenyatta University.
Program and US Teams/Interns Coordinator
Isaac joined HEART in July 2006, part-time, and full time in January 2007. He is a former language and culture instructor at Baptist Language School in Limuru. Isaac’s long term experience with different cultures and races while at Language school has contributed to him fitting well with all the communities HEART serves. Isaac travels widely as a representative of HEART. His skills of connecting easily with Kenyans extend to HEART’s international teams and guests. Isaac is a vital link to HEART’s expansion and stability. Isaac is married to Winnie Oresha and they have three children.
HEART Lodge Manager
Mr. Obes joined HEART in 2004. He has a diploma in Hotel Management Skills and Guest Relations. He has studied Management in Organizations at Kenya Utalii College. Mr. Obes has over 12 years’ experience in the hotel industry. Before coming to HEART, he worked for hotel executives and Heritage Hotels. He helped oversee the growth of the HEART Lodge up to its current level. Mr. Obes is a key leader in the success of this self-sustainability avenue of revenue for HEART. Mr. Obes is married to Billiah, and they have four children.
HEART Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator
Naleke joined HEART in 2012. She has a post-graduate degree in project management. Her background in Environmental Health enables Naleke to achieve the best results within agreed deadlines. Her job includes traveling to HEART sites in many areas of Kenya to complete her evaluations. Naleke’s contribution to HEART includes serving the orphans and vulnerable children with HEART. She is married to Moses Alal, a marketer with Sports Station.
Deputy Manager of HEART Lodge
Joash joined the HEART staff in 2009. He has rich experience in Housekeeping. He has been diligent to his work over the years. Joash earned his promotion to the current position as Deputy Lodge Manager. He is skilled in and excels in public relations with HEART’s guests and teams. Joash plans to achieve a degree in hospitality at the Kenya Utalii College. His favorite sport is rugby. He is married to Elizabeth Aliongo and a father of two children: Tatyana Aliongo and Leroy Aliongo.
