JARED ABUGA

Agronomist

Jared has been working for HEART since in May 2011.  He has his diploma as a agronomist and currently enrolled for his degree in Entrepreneurship.  He oversees the greenhouses and kitchen gardens and other Income Generating Activities for HEART in the Nyanza and Coastal regions.  Jared is an integral part of the success with the WEEP (Women’s Equality Empowerment Program) women, vulnerable and orphaned children HEART serves.  His expertise helps HEART achieve the goal of food access and security within the households and communities HEART works in.

SALOME ANYANZWA

Salome Anyanzwa joined HEART in November 2016. She is responsible for annual planning, budget management, financial management, training and reporting for the HEART Trust and HEART Lodge; to ensure compliance with donors’ requirements, rules and regulations.

Salome has over 7 years’ experience in financial and grant management, reporting and training. She has previously worked with Lake Region Development Programme (Finance & Administration Officer), Faulu Kenya DTM Microfinance (Teller & Customer Service) and Barclays Bank Kenya (Operations Processing Officer). She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Finance and Banking), 2nd Upper Class Honors; Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Part II and has undergone various trainings on finance and grants management as well as servant Leadership.

DOMINICAH KANYI

Administrative Assistant

Dominicah joined HEART in January 2015. She has wealth of experience in administrative and office management skills acquired in a career span of over 18 years. Dominicah has a Diploma in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management and a Certificate in Secretarial Studies from Nairobi Baptist Centre. Currently, she is doing a BA in Business in Leadership at Pan Africa Christian University.

JACKLINE MORAA

Field Officer

Jackline joined HEART in 2012 as a Field Officer in the Nyanza region.  She studied Human Resources Management at Kenya Institute of Management.  Jackline is also a trained HTC Counselor and Peer Educator.  She has previously worked with Kenya Assemblies of God VCT Program as a Program Assistant, Counselor and Peer Educator and also with KEMRI/CDC as a field worker.  She oversees the three HEART WEEP centers and the HEART Kisii Regional Office.  She is married to Eric Mbogani and the have one daughter, Blessings Kerubo.

ALICE NJOROGE

WEEP PROGRAM MANAGER

Alice Njorge joined HEART in April 2016.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is working on her Masters degree in Community Health and Development . She is a long awaited blessing to have a nurse overseeing the WEEP program.   Alice brings twenty years of professional experience to her role as WEEP Program Manager. She is competent and trained in comprehensive care of HIV infected persons with special emphasis on antiretroviral therapy. She has specialized training in cervical cancer screening.  Everyone who meets Alice is impressed with her compassion, knowledge and ability to lead the WEEP women.

SOSPETER NDEGWA

Sospeter Ndegwa joined HEART in September 2016 as Consultant in Accounts Department. His main responsibility is to ensure daily accounting operations for HEART Lodge and Trust is at par with the set rules and regulations.

Sospeter joined us from Commercial sector from which he has over 10 years’ experience. Previously, he was Senior Accountant at Intraspeed Arcpro Kenya Ltd (Logistics Company), he has also worked as Credit Controller at Alibhai Shariff & Sons Ltd as well as Accounts Payable Specialist at Kinangop Dairy Ltd (Manufacturing).

He is Qualified Accountant with CPA (K) and is process of enrolling for Bachelor of Commerce Degree from a local University. Sospeter is devoted Christian and is married to Grace Wahogo and they are blessed with one son, Robben Ndegwa.

LYDIAH WANJIRU NJOROGE

Freedom for Girls Field (FFG) Program Manager

Lydiah is HEART’s Program Manager for our Freedom for Girls (FFG) program. She has been with HEART since January 2009 and is a professional social worker with a B.A in Social Work from Daystar University.  Lydiah travels to schools widely throughout Kenya as an instructor and voice of HEART’s Freedom for Girls program. Participating in this program enables school going adolescent girls to stay in school and succeed in their academics as well as acquire basic life skills. Besides introducing schools to this program, Lydiah also monitors results. Her job includes overseeing procurement, packaging and distribution of the sanitary towel packets.  She is the Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Kiambu (District 9212) 2014-2015/16.  Lydiah has learned sign language through the Challenger’s Ministry of her church, that ministers to physically challenged individuals.

JOYCE MWANGI

COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING OFFICER

Joyce Mwangi joined HEART Africa in June 2017 as a Communication and Marketing Officer. She is a graduate of the University of Nairobi, having obtained a BA in Development Communication. She has a 9 year experience in media, corporate and development communication. She has worked in various capacities in press relations, branding, web content generation and project documentation. She has written various development articles and produced documentaries. She is married and blessed with two sons. She is excited to join the HEART team in Kenya and looks forward to documenting the social transformation work as well as marketing the HEART lodge.

PHYLLIS WANJIRU

OVC-KFS PROJECT

Phyllis Wanjiru joined HEART in March 2017. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nairobi. She is also a trained and a certified clinical counselor. Before joining HEART, Phyllis worked as a Programs Manager at Pearls & Treasures Trust. She has also worked with Help Age Kenya, Kenya Red Cross Society and the Department of Children’s Services.

She brings along skills and competence in mentoring teenagers, advocacy and policy influence & excellent project management skills. She is an eloquent public speaker, with a passion for reaching out to teenagers and empowering them to make informed choices in life.

She enjoys traveling, swimming and making friends. She has a beloved son -Bedan Mwaniki.
