WEEP (Women Equality Empowerment Project) Coordinator – Kenya

The WEEP Coordinator will be in charge of the management and development of the WEEP project at HEART. WEEP is an “orphan prevention initiative”. Our goal is keeping mothers with HIV/AIDS living in extreme poverty alive, healthy, and self-sustaining, while preventing her children from becoming orphans. We enroll HIV positive mothers who have been widowed and abandoned. We commit to providing shelter, nutrition, medical care, spiritual discipleship, protection, and education for both mom and her children. Once the mother is physically stable, she is taught a trade ensuring she can care for her children. Many of our WEEP Mothers support their siblings’ children where a sibling(s) has died, so the impact of working with one Mother is amplified to impacting a whole family and community. The WEEP Coordinator will provide leadership in the governance and management of the WEEP Centers, WEEP Graduate Centers, and Next Gen Centers. The Coordinator will work closely with WEEP Health and Wellness Manager, HEART Field staff/representatives, Centre Coordinators and WEEP mothers to bring about social and economic change and improve quality of life of the WEEP mothers and their households.
